{"id":422,"date":"2013-09-04T22:31:37","date_gmt":"2013-09-04T22:31:37","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/summittforests.com\/?p=422"},"modified":"2013-09-04T22:31:37","modified_gmt":"2013-09-04T22:31:37","slug":"douglas-complex-100-contained","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/summittforests.com\/?p=422","title":{"rendered":"Douglas Complex 100% Contained"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<p>The Douglas Complex of wildfires in southwestern Oregon has been declared contained, although smoke is expected to keep rising until fall rain finally extinguishes the smoldering remains.<\/p>\n<p>The Douglas Complex was one of several large fires touched off by lightning on July 26.<br \/>\nFire managers Tuesday night declared it 100 percent contained after growing to more than 76 square miles \u2014 about 48,700 acres.<br \/>\nAnother of that July crop of fires, the Big Windy Complex to the southwest, is now considered 87 percent contained at about half that size.<\/p>\n<p>The two other large Oregon fires remain:<br \/>\n\u2022 The Government Flats complex near The Dalles, considered 90 percent contained at nearly 18 square miles.<br \/>\n\u2022 The Vinegar fire northeast of John Day, considered 45 percent contained at about 2 square miles.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Douglas Complex of wildfires in southwestern Oregon has been declared contained, although smoke is expected to keep rising until fall rain finally extinguishes the smoldering remains.
